Position Overview: The Second Shift Onsite Manager will oversee operations during the second shift to ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role is crucial for maintaining productivity and quality standards while managing a team of production staff. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a strong background in manufacturing operations and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight: Manage all aspects of second shift operations, including production, quality control, and equipment maintenance. Ensure production goals are met and operations adhere to company standards and regulations.
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and support second shift production staff. Provide guidance, resolve conflicts, and ensure team members adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain product quality standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct safety training and address any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and address operational issues that arise during the shift. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment malfunctions and minimize downtime.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit shift reports, including production metrics, quality issues, and any incidents or discrepancies. Communicate effectively with other shift managers and departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement and promote best practices for efficiency and productivity. Encourage feedback from staff and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Proficiency in manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
